Andrew Bird newsletter - imitosis, imitosis, imitosis

Hello friends. I bring you some news from the world of all things Andrew Bird related, many of them having to do with the song Imitosis:

#1 - VOTE FOR IMITOSIS!

Numero Uno, I would like to ask all you lovely folks to vote for the “Imitosis” video which is now playing on the MTVU program “The Freshman” – they feature 5 videos for a week, and the one that gets the most votes will be featured more on MTVU. And without going into all the machinations of the sordid music business, I will merely say that would be really helpful for us to get your vote! Go here: <http://www.mtvu.com/music/freshmen/> THANKS!!!!

And here’s my campaign speech, ready ? If elected, I promise to re-install solar panels on the white house, send everyone to electoral college, give free bicycles to all who want one, and serve s’mores at my fireside talks (there will be snacks!) Oh wait, I’m not running for president. (yet) Sorry – let’s stay on point, VOTE FOR IMITOSIS!

Speaking of “Imitosis” - The amazing Kieran Hebdan of Four Tet has done a remix of “Imitosis”

Download it from the Andrew Bird a/v page!

Andrew was also nominated for “Best Male Artist” for the 2007 Plug Awards – vote here if you aren’t tired of stuffing the ballot box: http://plugawards.com/general_vote.php

Mr. Bird recently appeared on a French TV show called "Ce Soir Ou Jamais", a live cultural show broadcast on France 3 - you can also watch a link to that on the A/V page. Guess what song he played ?
