UA replaces WebCT system With the University's expansion during the past few years, it was only a matter of time before its Internet resources needed to be revamped. Keeping that in mind, UA officials made the decision to transition from WebCT to a new instructional technology called eLearning. The University, though extremely unceremoniously, changed its nondiscrimination policy to include sexual orientation. After almost a year of controversy over the University's lack of protection for GBLT-Q students, the University finally changed its policy, becoming the last SEC school to include sexual orientation. His band, The Dexateens, bangs out their loud rock 'n' roll songs at bars across town until the places shut down. This makes McPherson's acoustic performance tonight in the Greensboro Room of the Bama Theatre special. Saban was introduced as the coach the next day at a news conference. Saban's decision to take the Alabama job sparked a media firestorm for the better part of a month over his integrity and other character issues. Acoustic Night @ The Bama

On Thursday, January 10, 2008, Acoustic Night @ The Bama in the Greensboro Room returns with two excellent singer-songwriters: Elliott McPherson(of the Dexateens) and Blaine Duncan(Blaine Duncan and the Lookers) in a very rare unplugged performance. Doors open at 8:00PM , with the show beginning at 8:30PM. Admission is only $3, with all proceeds going to the artists. The bar in the Greensboro Room will be open, offering imported and domestic beers, wine, and mixed drinks.
