Student Radio Station Raises Awareness of Local Music Scene
(Tuscaloosa, AL, March 5, 2008) 90.7 The Capstone announces Tuscapalooza, a 12 hour event devoted to experiencing the diversity of Tuscaloosa's music scene. Tuscapalooza will take place at the Bama Theatre in downtown Tuscaloosa on Friday, March 28, from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM. This event is open to all ages for a $10 admission, with $5 admission for children 12 and under.
Featured artists will include Baak Gwai, Ahead Band, Skullduggery, The Universe, Squirrelhouse, The Pinnacles, 22 Short Street, Sons of Thunder, The Bonky Bonks, The National Trust, Ominous Castle, The Right Brain Society, Blaine Duncan and the Lookers, and more. Between the bands 90.7 The Capstone will host games and contests for the audience, with prizes provided by local sponsors.
90.7 The Capstone, The University's only student-run radio station, is a non-profit entity that allows students to gain real-world experience in all areas related to radio. Profits from Tuscapalooza will go toward improvements at the station.
