"Turn Off Your T.V." with 90.7 The Capstone
Student Radio Station Announces First Benefit Concert of 2008
(Tuscaloosa, AL, March 25, 2008) This Saturday night, March 1, The Mellow Mushroom in Tuscaloosa will host the "Turn Off Your TV" benefit concert for 90.7 The Capstone from 9 PM to 2 AM. The concert will feature artists from the Tuscaloosa area such as National Trust, The Bonky Bonks, Michael Duquette, and DJ Bin Rockin.
Admission for this 19-and-older concert is $5. Anyone who brings a TV to the door receives free admission. The TVs will be recycled by 90.7 The Capstone during its ongoing "Turn Off Your TV" campaign.
Between the bands 90.7 The Capstone will host games and contests for the audience, with prizes provided by local sponsors. Sponsors include Alabama Bookstore, Downtown Trading Company, and OZ Music.
90.7 The Capstone, The University's only student-run radio station, is a non-profit entity that allows students to gain real-world experience in all areas related to radio. Proceeds from the Turn Off Your TV benefit concert will go toward improvements at the station.
